  • CLASSES PRE-SCHOOL TO V 


    1.   Learning in these classes is an ongoing and wholesome process. It will be assessed in a continuous comprehensive manner. The focus will be on the daily, consistent progress made by the child in academic as well as co-curricular activities.
    2.   The assessment procedure will be based on the child’s daily interaction in the class, his/her level of general awareness, the quality of work produced by him/her, internalization of the concepts taught during the course of classroom interaction and the consequent learning outcomes throughout the year.

    Note:    Progress Profile Card of the students of classes Pre-School to V will be sent online after each term. In case, a student’s performance is not upto the expected standards, it will be discussed with the parents on a one to one basis.

     Grading will be done term-wise on a Three Point Grading Scale (A-Outstanding, B- Very Good, C- Fair) for:

    · Art Education

    · Health and Physical Education

    · Discipline (To be graded by the teachers).

     CLASS IX

    Subjects – Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics, General Science and Social Sciences, Information Technology (IT).
    Criteria of Assessment – 20% Internal Assessment + 80% Final Exam
    Internal Assessment includes:
              •     5%  Notebook Submission
              •     5%  Subject Enrichment Activity
              •     5%  Multiple Assessment
              •     5%  Periodic Tests

    Periodic tests throughout the year will be as follows :
    i)    Three PTs throughout the year for 40, 80 & 40 marks.

    Final Exam - Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus.

     CLASS X

    Subjects – Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics, General Science and Social Sciences, Information Technology (IT).

    Criteria of Assessment : 20% Internal Assessment + 80% Board Exam.

    Internal Assessment includes:
              •     5% Notebook Submission
              •     5% Subject Enrichment Activity
              •     5% Multiple Assessment
              •     5% Best two of Periodic Tests

    Periodic tests throughout the year will be as follows :
    i)    Three PTs throughout the year for 40, 80 & 40 marks.

    ii)   Pre-board Exam- Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus.

    iii) Final CBSE Board Exam – Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus.

    CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES

    CLASSES IX and X

    Grading on a Five Point Scale (A – E)

    1. Co-Scholastic Activities will include:
    •     Art Education
    •     Health & Physical Education (Includes Work Education)

    2.  Discipline (To be graded by the teachers)
    3.  Assessment will be done on a five point scale once in a year.
    4.  No upscaling of grades will be done.

     CLASSES XI and XII

    Class XI

    Science Stream : English Core, Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education

    Commerce Stream : English Core, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Physical Education

    There will be two Unit Tests of each subject during the academic year. Besides this there will be two formal examinations in September and February/March.

    Rules for Change of Subject:
    (i)     Change of subject(s) in class XI may be allowed by the Head of the School but not later than 15 July of that academic session.
    (ii)    No candidate shall be permitted to change his/her subject of study after passing Class XI.
    (iii)   The candidate shall not be offered a subject in Class XII which he/she has not studied and passed in class XI.

    Promotion Norms for Class XI

    •         All promotions will be based on the CBSE norms.
    •         The pass percentage in each subject (theory and practical separately) is 33%.
    •         A student failing in more than one subject will not be promoted.
    •         Passing both the theory paper and practical is manadatory as per the CBSE guidelines.
    •         Minimum 75% attendance is required for promotion.

     

    Class XII

    There will be two Unit Tests of each subject in the month of May/Oct during the academic year. Besides this, two formal examinations will be conducted in the month of September and December/January based on the CBSE examination pattern. The students will appear for the AISSCE conducted by the CBSE in the month of March.

    Note:    Progress Profile Card of the students of classes IX to XII will be sent online after each term. In case, a student’s performance is not upto the expected standards, it will be discussed with the parent on a one to one basis.

     


    CLASSES PRE-NUR - XII

    Attendance requirement:
    All students are required to complete minimum 75% of attendance to make him/her eligible to take the examination.


    Scheme of Examinations and Pass Criteria

    Senior School Certificate Examination: XII

    (i) The Board conducts examination in all subjects except General Studies, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education, which will be assessed internally by the school.

    (ii) In all subjects examined by the Board, a student will be given one paper each carrying either 70 or 80 marks for 3 hours 15 mins depending on the subjects opted by the child. However, in subjects requiring practical examination, there will be a theory paper and practical examinations as mentioned in the syllabi.

    (iii) In Work Experience, General Studies and Physical and Health Education, the School will maintain cumulative records of student’s periodical achievements and progress during the year.

    (iv) In order to be declared as having passed the examination, a candidate shall obtain a grade higher than E (i.e. at least 33% marks) in all the five subjects of external examination in the main or at the end of the compartmental examination. The pass marks in each subject of external examination shall be 33%. In case of a subject involving practical work a candidate must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical or orals separately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to qualify in that subject.
